A Blouse Gone Wrong: Forever 21 Saga Part 1

So, as one of my first projects with my new Janome sewing machine, I thought it'd be great to reconstruct a top I bought a million years ago for just that purpose. Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a before photo, so this will have to do (the only thing I did was remove the embroidered bit from the waist line!).

So... the bit that's driving me crazy now, of course... is the fact that this thing, quite literally, has some of the most backward construction I've ever seen.  Most notably, (because it's the only thing I've been able to concentrate on thus far) the embroidered belt.

Yes, there it is.  Lovely, no?  Well, you see all the metal bits surrounding it?  Yeah.  Those should be attached to the embroidery.  Well, it so happens that this embellished bit was sewn on *AFTER* the belt had been attached to the front of the blouse, as opposed to before.  No to mention, that the front of the blouse was not one solid piece, that then had an embroidered strip sewn on top of it, but rather, it was attaching the bottom and upper half of the blouse together.

So, what was a 2-day project has now turned into a 2-week project.  *le sigh* oh well!!  Just got to embellish and sew!!!

Oh well, at least this time I know it'll be done right!!

Take care, lovelies!!! *Muah*
